Cherry blossoms in the gardens of Newnham College, Cambridge, England

I’ve had a splendid day – visiting four colleges – Clare, Darwin, Ridley Hall and this one, Newnham. Most of the students are on holiday, and if you ask politely, the porters will allow you to take photos in the gardens, even supplying you with a map. This cherry tree was at the far end, near “Peile” – the name of the building on the left. By the time I had wandered to this part of the college, the tree was mostly in the shade. I’m tempted to return earlier in the day.
