Jousting at Hedingham Castle and why the English drive on the left
August 27, 2007 12:00 am

Today, there was an excellent display of jousting in the grounds of Hedingham Castle in Essex. Here, the blue knight is about to remove the helmet of the red knight to win the joust.
Incidently, the photo illustrates why the English drive on the left-hand-side: horse riders hold the reins with the left hand and swords with the right - so it makes sense to drive on the left.
