Window, face, crest and trellis on old thatched house, Mill Street, Houghton, Cambridgeshire, England

The thatched house with its pheasants on top (see yesterday’s post), has these interesting features on its gable end wall: the lead-framed windows with bright red curtains; the statue of a face - perhaps of some ancient Greek philosopher; a crest or emblem - perhaps some royal dignitary paid a visit; and a trellis for climbing plants.
